Raise the alarm with a prototype
Meerkat Designs Ltd needed a physical prototype.
Meerkat Designs Ltd specialises in Inclusive Intuitive Design. The Meerkat team designed a replacement fire alarm box or retro-fit attachment, designed to ensure that anyone will be able to raise the alarm.
Competitive Scotland funded five days worth of design and prototyping time in conjunction with the Digital Design and Manufacturing studio in the University of Strathclyde.
The technical team within DMEM advised on suitable rapid prototyping technologies and completed rapid prototyping of Meerkat's designs using the new Fused Deposition Modeller in DMEM's new Digital Design & Manufacturing Studio.
